Biography: Carlyle was born to a vampire father and a human mother, in Florence, Italy. Even as a child, Carlyle could tell his father disliked him and his mother - like they were trash, or something of the sort. After his father left him, his mother went crazy and was extremely depressed, which deeply saddened Carlyle. His love for his mother was unreal, and his hate for his father - that was unbelievable. He grew up fast and hard, and almost everyday was a challenge.

He left Italy after his mother's death and went onto try to prove something, he was a half-breed, but he didn't care. No one deserved to be treated so poorly, or be abandoned like that - he wanted to make sure that never happened to anyone again, or at least one person. He now had to make his journey to St. Vlads, where he would dedicate his life to becoming a guardian - and protecting at least one soul. The academy was interesting, but it taught him how to fight, how to survive and most importantly - how to protect people. With graduation he was given his promise mark, which was branded on his right shoulder blade.

Shortly after graduation it seemed like everything was fine, until Carlyle was alerted of something. There was an impending war with the Strigoi and any able bodied Dhampir was needed to fight. It wasn't really like he had no choice, but he volunteered anyway, he wanted to prove himself - show his father that he wasn't trash. Using his favorite weapon, a silver stake, he went to war. He had never seen a Strigoi before, and they were pretty intimidating, but that gave him all the more reason to fight - to kill and protect. Blow by blow, he was hit by Strigoi - barely living, but he still fought on. As waves of Strigoi came, he plunged his stake through their hearts, and even managed to rip a few heads off.

He had never seen anything so brutal in his entire life, but it was to late to take back his actions. With every kill he felt stronger, and he felt like he was more able bodied than any other Dhampir. As soon as he returned to the academy he was branded with the Zvezda mark, for his bravery in battle - but it was mostly for his kill count, that eventually was unknown. Carlyle was at a sort of ceremony where each guardian would be assigned to someone, but there was nothing he wanted more - than to be assigned to a girl he had seen, previously. All he knew was her name was Diana and that she lived in the Royal Palace. A lot of good that would do him, but he requested this - hoping that it would be accepted.
